Three Quick Tips That Reduced My Anxiety Levels To Non Existent

1 — Caffeine

I used to drink 3–5 cups of dark roast a day. Now I have zero. Still have decaf cappuccinos but caffeine intake is kept to a minimum.

Looking back, I can’t believe how I was able to function on those levels of caffeine. It is by far the biggest impact in reducing stress, anxiety, cold sweats(?), focus, over-analyzing and energy levels.

If I could only give one tip on improving how you feel on a daily basis — quit caffeine.

You don’t know what it does to you or who you are without it unless you give it up for a minimum of 2 months.

I wrote a couple stories about my experience with quitting coffee, you can read them here and here.

2 — Social Media

Scrolling social media feeds has to be one of the worst ways to spend time. It sucks you in, the thumb just keeps moving as if has a little mind of its own.

Imagine how many weeks we’ve spend watching stupid 5 second “dance” moves by the end of our life and imagine what valuable memories we could have we created with all that time.

I use social media daily, it’s kind of my job. I use it with intent to produce something and not mindlessly consume crap. Once that’s done, I’m off.

Helps a lot with not falling into the trap of comparing your life with fake and polished social media feeds.

Because even the 24 year old girl with 5 million followers who seems to pop up in a new exotic country every week got problems.

We all do, you just don’t hear about them.

3 — Exercise

This is as important as the air I breathe and the food I eat. It shouldn’t be on the list but we have a problem today with a massive lack of it in general in society.

So consider this a reminder to move your body. It’s screaming for you to get off the couch and put it to use and once you do, your brain will thank you for it by releasing wonderful endorphins.

This will simply make everything just a little better.
